Why Horse Riding Gears are More Stylish than Cycling Clothes?

I saw a post on the internet that talks about the differences between riding a bike and a horse. Then this question occurred to me: why is cycling gear so ugly when horse riding gear is classy and stylish? I am not grown in a place that has many horses, but I do know something about riding a horse.
Horse Riding Gears
Horses are hairy and smelly.
They evacuate pretty lethal stuff out of their rear end.
Horse riding can be very physical and can make you sweat if you are riding hard.
Horse riding is very bumpy and is notorious for saddle soreness.
Horses are often ridden on the road.
And yet horse riding specific clothing is very stylish–smart riding boots, jodhpurs, a shirt and tie, a riding jacket and a velvet riding helmet.

Then the situation is totally different for bikers.
Bicycles are clean, they aren’t hairy and don’t smell.
They don’t shit.
You can sweat if you ride hard.
Bicycles are not very bumpy but you do move your legs more than with horse riding.
Traffic cone fluoro is often promoted as essential when riding on the road.
Cycling specific clothing is very unstylish – tight cycling shoes, padded lycra shorts, skin tight lycra top, fluoro everything and a polystyrene cycling helmet.

Then here is my question: Why is horse riding specific clothing so much more stylish than cycling specific gear? Why do horse riders not think it essential to wear padded shorts when ‘serious’ cyclists obviously do? Why the cycling clothes can’t be more stylish like horse gears?

Therefore, which do you prefer, riding a horse or riding a bike?

Wear Bright Cycling Clothes: They Will Save Your Life

I am pretty sure that every cyclist knows that we should dress in bright clothes when cycling in the dark and foggy days to keep ourselves safe. However, sometimes we just don’t have a choice because of some emergencies. In this case, you should be extra careful about your cycling trip because you may easily get injured during your way.

I am saying this because several days ago, I witnessed a cycling accident. A rider wearing all dark clothes get sandwiched between a coach and railings on the inside, the coach driver hadn’t seen him, and when he made a dramatic swerve that put him on the other side of the road, the cyclist pulled up on to the pavement at the next opportunity and stopped whilst the coach drove off sounding his horn.

At that moment I was cycling pass them. I stopped to see if the cyclist was OK, and was surprised to see a fairly old rider, on a very good bike, but wearing dark clothes. He said he normally rides with lights, reflective bands and the whole lot, but he had picked up his bike from being repaired and had completely forgotten to bring his kit, which makes him so invisible. But thankfully, no body hurt.

Therefore, I just want to say that you shouldn’t take a chance riding on the road this winter, at the very least get decent front and rear lights, and have something reflective on your person. It’s a good idea to get some reflective tape and stick a small patch on the back of your helmet, and the seat stays of your bike, which will really light up under illumination of traffic.

Apart from the above, the other thing is despite many cycling manufacturers making dark, subtle clothing with reflective taping built in, too often the rider can be invisible from the side, a bright jacket and preferably wheel reflectors make you as visible as possible.

The Top Five Bike Accessories In Addition to Cycling Clothes

Many people love cycling. And the best cycling season, the autumn, is already here. Will you plan yourself a cycling trip across the country? In fact, biking is not just a great cardiovascular exercise; it’s also a lot of fun. However, you should take some essential things for the trip, I mean, besides cycling clothes and shoes.

1. Bicycle Headlights: These are very valuable, especially if you are a commuter riding during the early morning or later evening when cars may have less visibility. LED bicycle lights provide strong concentrated beams of light.

2. Helmet: Of all bike accessories that we’ve mentioned here today, the helmet is by far the most important. It is mandatory in most places, so wearing one will prevent you from getting a ticket, not to mention a helmet can save your life in the wrong kind of accident. Don’t mess around when it comes to your own safety.

3. Bike Lock: Another great accessory that allows you to take your bike everywhere without having to worry about it being stolen.

4. Water Bottle and Holder: If you are biking for at least fifteen minutes, chances are you will break a sweat. If that’s the case, rehydrate with a water bottle that sits conveniently on your bike frame.

5. Fenders: Biking through the rain is a bummer, but fenders make it more bearable. You should also invest in good rain gear, like a weatherproof coat and waterproof boots and pants.

All these bike accessories talked above are very valuable. You’ll feel very, very glad to have them when you need them. Ideally you should have them all for maximum safety and comfort, but if you can’t buy them all at once, choose one at a time until you can. I know you’re going to have a happy riding!

It’s Never Easy to Find the Right Cycling Clothes

It’s never easy to find anything that is just right for someone to do something. You may feel confused about what I said but I know, you absolutely agree with me. “Ring” things are always difficult to find. The same is true for cycling clothes.

As for cycling clothes, you can definitely find many different brands, colors, styles when you will look for cycling apparel. Generally men usually prefer to wear Camo bibs that give marine or army looks while women like to prefer colorful clothing during their rides. However, the color and style of women’s cycling apparel vary from the men.

What’s more, you should also choose such accessories for you that will give you the maximum comfort on your rides as well as match your personality perfectly. You will also have to take the seasons and riding place into your consideration while choosing biking attires. For example if you want to do biking on the mountain, you will of course have to have some different attire from the leisure cycling apparel.

In fact, the main part of cycling attire is bike pants. Historically, bike shorts were made of knit wool of black color with beautiful chamois leather based patches that decreases the irritation caused by the friction with the cycle seats while riding.

As we all know, girls’ bike shorts always differ from the shorts that are used by men. When you are searching for girl’s shorts, you will get many cycling shorts in different sizes with different styles available in the market. If you want to purchase cycling pants for winter season, you will have to choose the long cycling tight that is extended to the toe. But if it is bright sunny morning, you should wear a short length cycling tight that cowl the thigh.

Now, what you should do is to consider all these things into your consideration while wearing cycling attire and get a wonderful cycling experience with your friends in nice weather. You’ll have a good time that everyone else will envy your choice, including me.

Buy Yourself Cycling Clothes for a Comfortable Cycle Ride

The London 2012 Olympic Games are in full swing now. Then which sport do you like best? Personally, I like the diving and cycling most. Cycling is no doubt one of the best forms of cardio exercises that helps individuals to stay fit and in shape for longer period of time.

Of course many people perform cycling just for exercise while for some it’s a serious activity which they practice regularly for sake of competitions or for any other important purpose. Whether you are a professional cyclist, you need cycling clothes.

Some people don’t like wearing cycling clothes. This is totally wrong because there are eminent reasons for why most of the cyclists prefer wearing professional cycling shorts instead of the regular ones. Saddle soreness, chafing or numbness are some of the problems a cyclist may have to face due to excessive sweating and saddle discomfort caused during the long hours of riding.

Cycling shorts aren’t like the casual shorts. They are made to breathe, protect, and support the major muscles used for pedaling. That’s why most common saddle discomfort issues go away once one starts riding in cycling shorts.

Of course you also need cycling shirts for the sport. Many women cyclists prefer to wear short cycling skirts for topmost comfort during cycling. Skirts designed in stylish patterns and most comfortable fabrics offer great convenience to the rider.

Besides cycling shorts and shirts, many of them also prefer wearing cycling pants. The cycling pants extend to the ankle from the waist just like normal pants and are usually padded forms which are designed to offer protection against saddle discomfort just as shorts.

Anyway, cycling clothes are definitely necessary for all cyclists. They will protect you as well as keep you comfortable. That’s why you should buy cycling clothes for yourself.

Good Cycling Clothes Give You a Safe and Enjoyable Holiday

What do you think can ruin a cycling trip? The bike or the route? Well, I think nothing can ruin cycling holiday like forgetting the puncture repair kit or cycling clothing. While you may well be able to survive a little less comfort and maybe even escape your holiday without puncturing a tyre, transporting your bike seems like an awful lot of effort to make if there’s a high chance that things could go wrong.
Cycling Clothes
Then what is the most important thing besides the bike? Of course it is the clothes. I think no one wants to spend their holiday rubbing cream onto his chafed thighs, so remembering clothing is important. Once you’ve readied your cycling clothing, stocked up on puncture repair kits and attached your bikes to the car, you’ll be able to head off safe in the knowledge that nothing will spoil you cycling trip. What Else Do I Need?

Some cycling clothing is available that covers the neck, or you could just put a baseball cap on backwards to be safe. Punctures can be frustrating at the best of times but to get one while on holiday is even worse. Make sure you have a puncture repair kit packed and ready for action. You really don’t want to be wheeling your bike around all week!

If you wanna go cycling in a hot summer, you have to consider the sunburn. So sun cream is important if you’re going to be outdoors a lot on your holiday. If the sun decides to be kind to you, you’ll notice that cycling for long periods exposes the back of the neck to a lot of rays. Slapping plenty of sun cream on before you leave helps to prevent any painful burning that can lead to restless nights, so is well worth remembering.

You should take care of yourself as well as enjoy the scenery along the way. So please buy yourself a high-quality cycling cloth. Make sure you will have a safe and enjoyable holiday.

Enjoy Your Cycling Summer with Good Cycling Clothes

This year’s summer comes very suddenly. I have not even had time to enjoy my spring, and temperatures up. But summer is a season for sports. This year’s Summer Olympics will be held in London, many sports seem to be more liked by people. Cycling is more and more liked by people in summer nowadays.

As the length of the daylight increases, you may see more cyclists on the road. Now is the perfect time to start thinking about taking your bicycle to work or to run errands around town. For most purposes, commuting will involve some type of road or hybrid/cross bike. Local errands can easily be done on a mountain bike.

Another important thing is you should choose a good bike, a bike that is suit for you. Road bikes generally have thinner tires which increase speed and make it easier to cover more distance in your commute. Depending on the amount of clothing or gear you need to carry, a set of panniers and a rack can give you more cargo space. I would highly recommend some reflective clothing to help you be seen if you are traveling early or late in the day.

Besides the bike, if you are starting cycling in summer then it’s probably best to buy a full zip cycling jersey. If its winter you may want to buy a part zip jersey, this is usually cheaper to buy. Most jerseys have 3 pockets on the back; steer clear of any jerseys that don’t as on long rides you may want to carry a lot in your pockets.

For me, I think you can buy a short sleeve jersey and arm warmers. It’s then more versatile whatever the weather. A bright color is obviously safer when riding on the roads and there are many fluorescent jerseys available, also amongst professional team jerseys.

Cycling is never an easy thing as all other things. You should take good care of yourself and you can’t get yourself hurt. A good cycling jersey can help you enjoy your cycling summer in many aspects.

The functions of your cycling jerseys

Cycling jerseys serve a variety of functions that make riding more comfortable, efficient, and enjoyable. Athletic t-shirts–or  any other shirt for that matter–that you buy at Wal-Mart just don’t perform like a cycling jerseys. Oh, sure, you can ride with  a t-cycling clothing UK–and I have. It’s just that, over the long run, a jersey is better suited for the activity.

In the old days, jerseys were made of wool. While wool is an excellent insulator when wet, the fabric inevitably would stretch  out of shape and rip, and was warm in the summer heat.

Today’s jerseys are made from synthetic fibers that perform just as well in the wet, maintain their shape (dry or wet), don’t  rip as easily, cycling clothing accommodate a zipper of any length, and help wick moisture away from the body to aid in cooling during summer heat.

Cycling jerseys regularly feature pockets in the right places: the back. As you are hunched over riding, you have easy access  to the items in these pockets on your back. Most jerseys feature three pockets. Some feature a fourth, smaller pocket,  sometimes with a zipper small enough to carry keys, MP3 players, or other small items.
